Site for stats on flight history?

Does anyone know of a website that will give me stats for a particular flight -- % on time, frequency of cancellation? Some individual airlines will provide the info, but many will not -- so is there one central place to get this information?

Expedia provides information re: % on-time when you are looking for flights.

Your travel agent will also have that information when booking flights for you. Be sure to ask though.

Check out the Department of Transportation's Consumer Aviation website. They have on-time arrival info etc. I do not have the exact url, anyone have it?

Thanks re:Expedia -- it at least gives me on-time record, but I think that cancellations are not included in that calculation.

I don't buy tickets through travel agents.

I'll try DOT, but I tend to get hopelessly lost on .gov sites because they go on forever.

Iris, I will try to help you. I had bookmarked the exact place...and wouldn't you know it, I deleted it subsequently. hold up. am looking right now.

Iris,

This should get you started: Good luck..if I find more specifics, I'll come back:

http://www.bts.gov/programs/oai/

Thanks, Miriam -- was just there -- couldn't find anything more current than 1995.

http://www.bts.gov/ntda/oai/

this page says On Time Statistics. I hope it helps somewhat.

Iris, did you go to the airline web page itself? Did you call the airline and have them tell you? This is just in the meantime. I'm looking for the same information too. :) I'll keep looking.....I know I had the actual page that showed it all. can't remember for the life of me what it was.

Iris, it says "as of" January '95. I clicked one of the links but after waiting, it didn't connect. It should have the information as of '95 instead of up to '95. I'll keep trying.

Flights
As of January, 1995, all flights shown in the airlines' Computerized Reservation Systems (CRS) are tracked in the database for the purpose of determining what proportion of flights was on-time. This includes canceled and diverted flights as well as flights affected by mechanical problems. From September, 1987 to December, 1994, flight delays or cancellations due to mechanical problems were treated differently. If a mechanical problem caused a flight to be late or to be canceled, the flight was not reported. Definitions Scheduled departure and arrival times We use the times shown in the airlines' Computerized Reservation Systems (CRS). For the monthly summary data shown on the BTS web site, we use the departure and arrival time for the last flight of the month for that flight number. Note that flight schedules are subject to change. During the month, a given flight may operate at various times. Actual departure and arrival times Actual departure time is the time when the flight left the gate, the "gate departure time". Actual arrival time is the time the flight arrived at the gate, the "gate arrival time".
