SISTERS TAKE ON NYC--HELP
 

My three sisters and I are going to NYC in June. We want a suite that sleeps 4, and less that $300 total per night. We plan on going to the theater at least twice, otherwise, museums and shopping. What hotel would you suggest?

Marilyn, can't beat a "sister trip" to NYC! Would you consider bidding for 2 rooms on Priceline? You would be able to book 2 rooms (same hotel) for less than $300/night. It would also be easier not to have 4 in one room as far as getting ready to go out, with only 1 bathroom for 4 to share, etc. Is priceline an option for you?

Yes, Sara, you are right, we need two rooms, but preferably in a suite (we like to relax with coffee in our pj's together) I have looked on price line, and can't tell exactly what I am bidding on, ie. two separate rooms or a suite. Also, are you committed to buying them then and there if they accept your bid?

Check out the Avalon hotel. I had visiting family saty there about a year ago (3 adults). the Suite had a bedroom with 2 double bed and a living area with a pull out sofa. I think they may also have suites with 2 queen beds and a sofa bed. It also includes a decent continental breakfast, and from what I was told, a good cup of coffee. It's on 32nd St, off of 5th av. which is a good location whether you want to explore uptown or downtown.

Hi, Priceline only guarantee their NYC hotel rooms to sleep two, so you would need to bid on 2 rooms. check out the website biddingfortravel.com before going to Priceline.com to place a bid (the &quot;administrator&quot; on biddingfortravel.com can help you place a bid, but she has no patience with people and is often very nasty) Anyway, don't bid on Priceline until you are POSITIVE how it all works, because once your bid is accepted - you MUST take the rooms.<BR><BR>If PL is too scary, go to Quickbook.com and see what they have for the dates you need. The are a reliable reservation site (no bidding) and if you need to cancel your reservation for any reason, you can - PL is Non-cancelable. Also quickbook lets you see the hotels on a map so you get an idea where the hotels are in relation to your activities.

Marilyn--- the PERFECT place is the SALISBURY HOTEL on W.57th st between 6th and 7th Ave--<BR><BR>Get this suite and request a room with 2 double beds-- it sleep 4 in the bedroom and 2 more can sleep in the sleep sofa in the living room...<BR><BR>A suite at this hotel in June is usually on special-and you should be able to get it for under $250 pn-- <BR><BR>The rooms are nice, clean, NOT the HILTON, but the location is tops-<BR>Just across from Planet Hollywood and caddy cornered from Carnegie Hall--<BR><BR>There is only 1 bathroom- but there is a little kitchen area with a fridge which is good for those HUGE deli sandwiches that you can't finish--<BR><BR>ALso WOLFF's DELI delivers to this hotel...<BR><BR>It is just across the back entrance from the Parker Meridian and 1 block from CENTRAL PARK....<BR><BR>You can't go wrong here with this hotel<BR>I have been staying here for over 28 years....

Check out the Manhattan East properties at www.mesuite.com and you'll find some places that met your needs. We've been consistently pleased with these places. The locations are great - convenient to everything. Having a kitchen makes it perfect for the coffee klatsch.

Check the Beacon on the upper west side - 75th and Broadway. Do a search and you will only find positive reviews.

The Shelburne Murray Hill is perfect for you. A suite includes a room with 2 double beds, a living/dining room with a pull out couch, AND a little kitchen. The hotel is very pretty, the rooms are beautiful, and the location on Lexington Ave. is not bad. We love this place.

Another possibility to consider:<BR><BR>Rent a furnished apt. for your stay. One company that specializes in short-term furnished rentals is www.hospitalitycompany.com. 1-bedrooms start at $125/night; 2-bedrooms start at $250/night. Check this site for reviews.

I just did a &quot;Sister's&quot; trip with my 3 sisters last June...did the research on Fodors and did come up with the Beacon Hotel (or Hotel Beacon). Great apartment with kitchenette, great location and great price $185 per night. Two queen beds, separate living room with pull out sofa, and you could ask for a roll away. We walked and rode the subway everywhere!
