Single First timer in San Francisco

Hi,

I plan to go to San Francisco alone in either late April or late May.

I am trying to find a hotel in a main area, as I have never travelled alone. I'm thinking the Union Square area.

Any suggestion?

Thanks

The Mosser is in a great location [Union Square, near Muni, Cable Car, Ferry Bldg etc].

We stayed there in March. It is not fancy, more like a hostel. The rooms are small.

There are rooms with private baths; some rooms with sink only and hall showers. The shower rooms were very clean.

The prices are great and I would have felt safe there alone.

Hello SDee, SF is a great city for a single person to visit as there are many single people in SF.

Union Square is a very good idea in my opinion. Do you know what you want to budget per night for a hotel room? There are lots of choices around Union Square.

I love The La Petite Auberge and The White Swan http://www.jdvhotels.com/hotels/petite_auberge,

They are sister hotels and are both close to Union Square and I felt very safe staying there with my sister. I have stayed at both the hotels several times over the past twenty years and most recently in Feb 2008.
