Silverado Resort

We are two couples going to Napa Valley (first time) for our #30 wedding anniversary for 4 days. We are looking at the Silverado Resort. We are not golfers but It looked nice and rooms are in the $160 area.
Has anyone stayed there recently.
Better suggestion for 50ish people?
Thanks

I'm not going to knock Silverado but some friends recently stayed there and had mixed reviews.

Many of the units are privately owned but managed by the Resort. So, the decor and condition of the rooms can vary. It's an older resort that could use a re-make.

The spa and tennis center are wonderful and the golf is the best in the area. There are also a couple of good restaurants there.

We stayed in a one bedroom condo with a fireplace. It was clean and comfortable. Due to the condos being spread out all over the resort, the shuttle was necessary to get to the clubhouse, spa, restaurants, etc.. The fact that we had to rely on the shuttle to get anywhere was annoying. If you can get a room or condo within walking distance of the clubhouse or if you have a car, it will be more convenient. The golf course is nice and the spa was wonderful.

Thanks, we are really going to visit the wine country and set by the pool.
We are in a room not a condo ($160 per night). We are starting the trip in San FRan.
Thinking of spending a night in Mendocino.
Your thoughts?

The Resort is OK, but not great if you're not golfing.
If you have time, by all means spend a night in Mendocino, but it is a healthy drive up there from Napa. I'd go to Healdsburg and the Russian River, Dry Creek and Alexandar valleys for my other days if you want to visit Mendocino rather than Napa. Some really good wineries along Highway 128 between the 101 & Route 1.

I'm surprised Silverado has rooms for $160. Seems like a good deal for folks like you. Years ago we used to sneak into the pool area at night but they've put a stop to that now.

Mendocino is a great drive. Both 128 and Hwy 1 are excellent, scenic routes. But, there's so much to do there that one night might not be worth it since you will want to take your time driving up there one day and then back the next. I would stay 2 nights.

Sonoma Mission Valley Inn (Fairmont property) is the best. You pay for it but you get what you pay for.
