Siesta Key vs. Holmes Beach

My husband and I are planning a short trip in early March. Trying to decide between the Harrington House in Holmes Beach or the Tropical Shores Beach Resort in Siesta Key. We'll only be staying a couple of nights which limits our choices. We'd appreciate any feedback on these places. Thanks! Diane

I'm not familiar with the two hotels you named, but we stayed at the Holiday Inn on Longboat Key a few years ago and it was beautiful. We were able to walk right from our hotel room onto the beach. It is less congested than some of the other Keys, if you want r & r. Sarasota is across the bridge, and offers some nice shopping and restaurants -- I believe it was called St. Ormonds Square? Hope this helps...
