BTW, I found this thread b/c we are researching going back to Sanibel or a nearby location (to Sanibel) this summer. We had so much fun at Sanibel that we are wondering if we should go back there again or try someplace new near Sanibel. This time we will be co-vacationing with family friends!

Does Siesta Key have shelling and bike paths?

I have stayed at Siesta Key at a condo complex called "Our House at the Beach". Two bedroom townhouses with garages located right across the street from the Siesta Key Public Beach. They are reasonably priced especially after May 1. I rented through VRBO or you can rent directly from condo association at their website.

I'm hoping someone could answer yet another question for me. In looking for airfare, I cannot find a direct flight to sarasota from minneapolis. I could fly directly into Ft Myers, what is the drive like from Ft Myers to Siesta Key? I can't decide if I want the hassle of transferring planes or a longer drive. I would appreciate anyones opinion. Thanks again

We usually fly into Tampa, which is about an hour drive to Sarasota. I think the drive from Ft. Meyers to Sarasota is just a bit longer.
