siesta key may 15

We have a beachfront vacation planned for Siesta Key May 15. As of right now we are planning on going. We are purchasing insurance with "cancel for any reason" option. Everything for our trip came together in just the right way-flights, place to stay, time off work-it has been such a blessing. I heard that the "state of emergency" at this time extends as far south as Sarasota. It has taken 2 weeks to travel just to the Louisiana coast, and while I hope it never reaches the Florida coast, hopefully it will proceed just as slowly if not even slower. I pray that these beautiful natural resources will remain unspoiled as long as possible. While it is surely on my mind that I don't want my vacation ruined, it makes me ill to think of the sea life dying and the beaches being damaged, no matter when that occurs. And all the people who rely on the tourism industry.

If you who live in the area hear any news about if and when they expect any damage, please post.
