Geesh! What a lively little discussion my blankety-blank posting has inspired! :-d And now I'm here pondering WHO will play me in this movie about us all...... ;;)

starrsville Apr 10th, 2005 12:16 PM

How about Kathy Bates with a Southern accent? A Steel Magnolia with a heart of gold?!

leahinsc Apr 10th, 2005 12:32 PM

ok - I've only read through about 1/2 of the responses to this...Saw "Sideways" on a flight to Paris - beautiful scenes of CA but hated the whole premise and couldn't identify w/ the loser wine snob or the scum who fooled around before his wedding - uggh.... Can't believe that this movie actually won awards.

bonniebroad Apr 10th, 2005 12:55 PM

Starrsville, I love Kathy Bates though I'm not quite her type..... but I used to be compared to Faye Dunaway a few years ago .... :-d

Patrick Apr 10th, 2005 01:15 PM

Oh dear, as Mommy Dearest??

starrsville Apr 10th, 2005 01:15 PM

Well, then...I think you've cast yourself, Bonniebroad! :-)

Scarlett Apr 10th, 2005 01:19 PM

Listen , if we are casting ourselves, I want to be the mysterious blonde in the red dress. . with a Pup :)
He has brown hair, mine is blonde, so I think Andy McDowell is out although she is lovely..thank you :)

razzledazzle Apr 10th, 2005 02:03 PM

How about Nicole Kidman as Scarlett?
R5

Tandoori_Girl Apr 10th, 2005 02:17 PM

Hey! How about Vivian Leigh as Scarlett?!? And Clark Gable can be Pup!

I think Marlene Dietrich should play Tandoori Girl. I know she's dead. But she would have been perfect. Sigh.

starrsville Apr 10th, 2005 02:26 PM

Well, if we can cast deceased stars, then I'd choose Elizabeth Montgomery. I was told I looked like her...but I don't look anything like Nicole Kidman - the new Samantha in the Bewitched movie.

Option B would be Cybill Shephard - at any age.

burper Apr 10th, 2005 02:47 PM

So what drugs have you people been taking lately to hallucinate and post that you look like beautiful movie stars.

Please. Let me appeal to, most likely, geriatric posters here (and highky possible, obese too) not to spoil it for me and post that you look like fabulous movie stars!

bonniebroad Apr 10th, 2005 03:07 PM

Whoa, Burper!!!!!! (and we know you're *someone* in disguise!!! ;;) ) What geriatric (???) people are posting that they *look like a fabulous movie star?* As for my referring to a couple of OTHER people saying I looked like Faye Dunaway, I, myself, DO NOT even think Faye Dunaway is that pretty!!! I was reporting what what someone else said to me. (I much prefer to think I look like a silver-haired Kathleen Turner! RIGHT!!! :-d)) Chill.......... and have fun! We all are...... :-)

Marilyn Apr 10th, 2005 03:12 PM

Hey, if Salma Hayek can play Frida Kahlo, she can damn well play me.

Tandoori_Girl Apr 10th, 2005 03:32 PM

I've never told anyone this but I channel Marlene Dietrich.

seetheworld Apr 10th, 2005 03:46 PM

WOW! This thread has really taken a turn, lol! It's fun to have such vivid imaginations :) Now I really must see this movie!

Dreamer2 Apr 10th, 2005 03:54 PM

"Fodorites: The Good, The Bad, and the Trollers"

So - which one are you?

As a youngsta I was always told I looked like Rebecca DeMorney. If you know who that is, you are dating yourself!

Nowadays... Well... Let's just say, everyone who was my age in Hollywood seems to be getting younger. The rest of us commoners don't have the same advantages! :) And don't fair skinned people seem to age more quickly? Old blondes don't die, they just fade away...

Ah... the pity of it all.

Well, time is the best revenge. To all you beautiful people out there: enjoy it while it lasts!

And to the rest of you: Are you ready for your close up?

bonniebroad Apr 11th, 2005 05:18 AM

Dreamer2, I sure do remember Rebecca DeMornay! I saw a lot more of her than I meant to, when I took my 13 year-old son and his best friend to see Tom Cruise in "Risky Business," knowing nothing about the movie beforehand! :p (That was a LONG TIME ago, and I really squirmed in that one, at that time! :-d )

Scarlett Apr 11th, 2005 05:24 AM

Wasn't she the Nanny from Hell?

bonniebroad Apr 11th, 2005 05:28 AM

She was, indeed, the nanny from Hell, Scarlett! :-)

Dreamer2 Apr 11th, 2005 05:39 AM

I prefer to remember her in Trip to Bountiful.

:)
