side trip to charleston from savannah?

I'll be staying in Savannah ( first time ) for four days in early March. Is it feasible to try to squeeze in a side trip, including an overnight, to Charleston, or is there plenty to keep me busy in Savannah? Maybe I should save Charleston for a seperate trip.

Stick with Savannah. You'll have much more time to relax and enjoy the city as it should be seen. The distance makes it not worth it. Make it 2 different trips!

Although this two towns are relatively close and very similar in some respects I would also be tempted to say save Charleston for a trip onto itself. If you want an easy day trip to get more of the flavor of the coast go to Beaufort, SC which will take you under an hour.

Just last weekend we spent three nights in Savannah and two in Charleston. We greatly preferred Savannah, but I do feel like we didn't give Charleston a 'fair' assessment since our time was so short. There is definitely plenty to do in Savannah, lovely city. Save Charleston for when you have more time.

I'll go against the grain and say yes, visit Charleston. It would make a great overnight trip.

thanks all - looks like it's 3 to 1 in favor of sticking to Savannah, so that's what I'll do.
