Whales in Hawaii

I know it will be kind of early in the season BUT it’s the only time I could go. I’ve always wanted to see the whales in Hawaii, and this year I want to go. Dilemma: Maui or Honolulu and I could go anywhere from the 1st of November up to the 21st. Stay is for 7-8 nights. Experts out there are there any chances of spotting any whales that early? Or should I just use that as my excuse to go back
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Gina

I'd say Maui is better.

Maui or Kauai.

The later in November the better, but the best whale watching is January-March.

Usually the first sighting of humpback whales is late October.

As Marginal said, best time is January - March. Whale watching tours do not start until December 15 because there are not enough whales before then.

Your chances of seeing whales in mid-November are at best OK.

Maui for sure. Stay in West Maui and watch them from your room, hotel, restaurant or beach. In Kapalua Bay one yr we had a Pilot whale swim in the bay. The Humpbacks could be there in Nov, if there are no Whale Watch Boats(per dusty) justtake one of the many cruises(Morning, afternoon, dinner etc...) offered by Lahaina boat operators

I agree with Frank S. Western Maui is best and the latest dates you can manage. We were there in March and saw them often including right from our lanai at Koa Lagoon (condos.)
