Show & restaurant suggestions for in-laws
 

My in-laws are in their late 60's. They are going to Las Vegas. I haven't been in over 4 years. What would you experts suggest for shows and restaurants they might like. They are staying at Mandalay Bay. Thanks!

I don't mean to sound rude, but the fact that your in-laws are in their late 60s doesn't necessary profile them as only enjoying certain types of entertainment and/or restaurants. More important are their interests and food tastes! How about information along that line?

One show your in-laws might enjoy is Clint Holmes at Harrah's on the Strip. He is an excellent performer and his show is very good.

As far as restaurants - there are so many that without knowing their preferences or their budget it's hard to recommend any specific ones.

You guys are right...which is probably why I seek the advice of Fodorites anyway... My in-laws are fairly conservative and they have never been to Las Vegas. They enjoy shopping, eating in upscale restaurants, sightseeing, etc...They're not sure whether to rent a car. How's the shuttle system? I know they'd enjoy viewing the other casinos. Let me know..

For shows I also suggest Clint Holmes. We were in vegas last year and signed up for Harrahs slot card. They gave us free tickets to Clint Holmes, Mac King and Ron Lucas. All you had to do was buy 1 drink at the show. All shows were very good Clint holmes was the best. I'm sure your inlaws would enjoy this show.

What about Lance Burton? I have heard that is great too. I really don't think they would need a car. THe traffic can be crazy.

I can't imagine going to Las Vegas and not seeing one of the Cirque shows. "O", of course is the most unusual and if tickets are not available for that one, then "Mystere" is wonderful also. These shows are great and "O" cannot be seen anywhere else. There are so many great restaurants in Vegas that they should have no trouble finding good places to eat.
