Should I go to LondonThis Week with Son?
I have tickets for Thursday, using up frequent flier miles on United, return via Air New Zealand. I am planning on taking my 7 year old son. Do you think it is safe? If so, any suggestions on kid-friendly tours re Harry Potter, Stonehenge or Merlin? How about a kid-friendly, atmospheric hotel in Bloomsbury? Other kid advice? Thanks

I feel sure you'll be quite safe going to London.

Go to google.com and type in stuff for kids in London. You'll get a lot of sites, and some great suggestions. Google's great for plain-language requests--might try it for related tours, as well.

Of course go to London. The zoo is great, the Transportation museum is a favorite of my 6.5 year old grandaughter. She loved Chitty, Chitty, Bang Bang and Lion King. Natural History museum is also good. Good playgrounds in Regents park. Don't go to the London Dungeon. Afternoon tea at Savoy or other hotel is an experience. Just riding the Tube is an experience.

You will find much more information on London and things to do if you go over to the Europe Forum and either re-post your question or just do a Search on London.

My daughter and I went last week for 5 days. Had a great time. Never felt the least bit unsafe. The best thing is that everything is not packed with crowds.

Do the Big Bus Tour, visit Covent Gardens and watch the street performers, go to Kensington Gardens and visit the Peter Pan playground, take the train to Hampton Court and tackle the Maze (also, take a tour guided by one of the costumed guides), go on the London Eye.
