Short-term rentals in Los Angeles??
 

Help! My husband's job is relocating us to Los Angeles and he wants to get a short-term rental for the first few months. He's thinking corporate apartments and I'm thinking luxury hotel.

Anyone have any idea of any hotels that wouldn't be outrageous for a monthly stay?

Or, even though this is a travel posting, does anyone know of any corporate housing that's decent? (Ugh.)

There are many long-stay hotels in the LA metro area (and I'm including other cities like Torrance and Long Beach) catering to the corporate market. Where is your husband's job located? Since the area is so huge, it would be best to live nearby.

We have rented Summerfield Suites in West Hollywood several times for a month. If you stay 30 days there is no tax -- an automatic deduction of about 16 %. And of course a better rate. They have both "one bedroom" actually a sizeable living room, small kitchen, and raised bedroom area. They also have a few much larger full one-bedroom units. All units also include full breakfast buffet every morning. It is in the little "wedge" between LaCienega, Sunset, and Santa Monica Blvd. Gated underground parking -- rooftop terrace and pool area. You can negotiate a rate -- but something like $3000 a month, including daily maid service.

You could post for free on craigslist (http://losangeles.craigslist.org). And you can read the posts that are listed for sublets, apartments, etc.

So what's his problem with a luxury hotel? What a drag he is. Guess he pays those bills, huh?

Good point about Craigslist. I've been on there before looking at job postings (for my eventual need for something in L.A.), but didn't think of it for housing. Thanks.
