Shopping malls in Las Vegas?

My friend and I are visiting Las Vegas this weekend. We're not interested in casinos, but we got a nearly free trip. So, being from Canada, we'd like to shop for clothes, household items, etc. We're staying at the Stratosphere, and we won't have a car.

Any ideas for good shopping malls to focus on?

BTW - staying at the Strat it may be actually cheaper to rent a car if you plan on leaving the Casino much. The Strat is close to, well, nothing.

Thanks for the Fashion Show idea. That looks like it has a good selection.

We're going to take the bus and the monorail, and taxis if necessary, plus do a lot of walking.

The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace are worth a visit if only for the fountains.
A car would make life easier, parking is free at casinos.

There are also two outlet malls, one at the south end of the strip and one at the north end.

Both are accessible by bus or reasonable taxi ride.

Ditto to Fashion Square Mall, plus the Forum Shoppes at Caesars Palace and the Canal Shoppes at the Venetian.

Also, Planet Hollywood has the Miracle Mile shops (not sure if that is "shoppes" like the other hotel malls). They are in hotels but all three are basically malls with many familiar upscale mall stores.

If you want outlets, there are two major outlets -- I think one north of the strip and one south, but I've never been to either so can't make a personal rec.

PS - I forgot about Crystals at the City Center, which is the newest mall on the strip. IIRC, it's very upscale.

The fashion outlet shops at the north end of the strip, don't know it's correct name, it may be premium outlets, but it is very very good, with excellent high profile shops. Much cheaper than the shopping malls in the hotels.

My favorite outlet mall is on your end of the strip, and probably most easily accessible for you by taxi. Las Vegas Premium Outlet Mall is on Grand Central and Charleston. Here is a link to a form to get discount coupons at most of the malls: http://www.visitlasvegas.com/vegas/p...g_passport.pdf

Premium Outlet Mall is my favorite.
The Las Vegas Premium Outlet Mall that's located just north of the Las Vegas Strip.
We'll discover where our favorite outlet store brands in Las Vegas...including the LV Premium Outlets, plus 2 other fun factory outlet malls!

Thanks for your tips, everyone.

I hate to say this, but we did not end up shopping, after all. My friend did get an hour or two at Fashion Show mall, but didn't see anything really exciting. We just did not feel like we had enough time for the outlets, because we did a Grand Canyon tour, shows, and just touring the strip. The trip was all over very quickly. We didn't gamble even a penny.

Perhaps on a later visit we will get to more malls, should we go.

Yes Willtravel! The time goes so quickly and there is so much to see in Vegas. We were there in June with our 4 yold for 3 nights and will return June 2011 for 7 nights this time when we holiday again from Australia. We didn't get anywhere near the shops but hopefully this time.
