Shopping in Las Vegas

Can anyone tell me about clothes shopping in Las Vegas. My wife is concerned that she doesnt have enough of the "right" clothes for our upcoming trip. As we live in a rural area two hours away from the nearest city shopping mall,I told her to wait and shop when we get there.

Upscale shopping malls in Bellagio, Venitian, and I think Caesers.

As far as what people wear, you will see everything.

The Fashion Show Mall, just past TI, is your typical upscale mall. Stores include Macys, Saks, Nordstroms (I think), and all your usual mall stores.

There will be plenty of shopping opportunities in Las Vegas. The Fashion Show mall is very nice, as are the Forum Shops at Caesars and the shops along the canal at Venetian. There is also a great shopping venue at the Aladdin.

I also enjoy the LV outlet mall (expecially Off 5th) which is way down south on the strip, a mile or so past the last casinos. I'm sure buses go there if you don't have a car. If you DO have a car, there's also Prim, Nevada which is a lovely 30 minute (?) drive south on the interstate towards the Cal border. Very upscale outlet mall and a pleasant drive, if you have the time.

I agree that you will see all types of dress in LV. Jeans, t-shirts, fancy dresses, nice pants suits, it's ALL there. Have fun!

There's also a new outlet mall near downtown LV. I haven't been yet, but I've heard great things!
I shop at the Fashion Show Mall all the time. You can't really beat Nordrstrom or Macy's for sales- and it's on the strip.
Your wife shouldn't feel concerned about not having the right clothes. GoTravel is right- people wear everything! Jeans will usually suffice, but it IS fun to have new clothes for vacation. Have a great time in Vegas! =:)

Tell your wife not to worry. As long as she is wearing clothes, no casino in Vegas will throw her out for being improperly dressed. ;-)

The first time I went to Vegas, I thought I needed to dress up. I was quickly proven wrong! Most of the people around me (during the day) were wearing T-shirts and fanny packs. In the evening, if we went to a show or a classy dinner, I wore a nice capri pants outfit and that was quite appropriate.

Yes, if she wants to go shopping, the malls that everyone has mentioned will be just fine!

I was there at the relatively new LV outlets under the Chelsea chain this past weekend. It's just off the I-15 at Charleston. There were some upscale stores...D&G, Theory, Bernini. But they're sort of on the small side, little selection and discounts weren't that great. My wife did like the Tahari and L'Occitane stores though. Anyways, you could look up the stores directory somewhere on premiumoutlets.com.

If you've got money to burn, better to go clothe shopping at The Fashion Show on the Strip. It's got some high-end dept stores like Neiman Marcus, Nordstroms and Saks. I'm sure you can find the "right" clothes there.

I visited the Alladin shopping mall for the first time, and I thought that it offered a lot of good choices. Especially compared to the high-end hotel malls like the Forum Shops and the Grand Canal.

The only "right" thing to wear is your wallet...the days of dressing up in Vegas are long gone.
