Artemesia --- restaurant directly across the street from Joe Leys -- fun and good. Try L & N Wine Bar on Mellwood --- new so may have to search for the address. Try Louisille Stoneware for a tour. Bardstown Road in Louisville has lots of unique shops and great restaurants. Do a search on Louisville restaurant reviews and you'll find many more suggestions. There is also a glassworks with tours, too. Enjoy.

It's ideal to not post your message more than once. If you're looking for new ideas, posts can be topped just by replying to them, but you've got it started here already.

If you just couldn't find your post, you can click on your name in the upper left corner (or anywhere else it appears on the screen) and you'll see a list of all posts you've made or replied to.

The Frankfurt Avenue corridor is the only other "quaint" area near downtown Louisville. All of the many restaurants are locally owned. There isn't a bad one in the group. Also, there are a couple of restaurants at Slugger Field. They are open year round. Both are very good. Don't know if you girls like good beer, but we have several microbreweries (one is Browning's @ Slugger Field) that not only make good brews but do a good job with food.

Motherchic: if your post drops below #50 and you want to bring it back up, just post a reply to your own post and put in "ttt" (to the top) as the message. Most people will know what that means and why you're doing this.

There is a restaurant on Bardstown Road called the Uptown Cafe that has good food and doesn't mind how long you stay and talk, and their desserts are wonderful. Try the walnut torte.

Also, just off Taylorsville Road on Watterson Trail, there is a tearoom/gift shop called Somewhere in Thyme that you might enjoy.
