We are enroute to the Caribbean and will be staying 2 nights in FLL (from 5pm on March 12th to the morning of March 14)As we will only have one day in Ft Lauderdale, we'd love to have some ideas as to how to spend it.I would like to do a bit of shopping (hubby doesn't like to shop - is the Coral Springs shopping centre close to the Westin Ft. Lauderdale?) Then I would like to browse Los Olas Blvd. and go to the beach. Is this all within a close proximity of one another. Is there anybody who has other suggestions? Thanks

Las Olas is fun shopping and great restaurants too. You can get there by water taxi or street taxi.

If you want BIG shopping and have a car, Sawgrass Mills which is a HUGE outlet mall is outside of FLL closer to Weston.

Coral Springs is not that really close to the Westin Fort Lauderdale - Id stay about 30 minutes give or take. You are closer to Broward Mall and the Fashion Mall in Plantation.

I say avoid Coral Springs mall and head to the Galleria or Sawgrass Mills. If you want to leave Ft. Lauderdale for shopping I would suggest Town Center in Boca Raton.
