Does anyone know which fishing companies will smoke/ dry ice and ship salmon home between the Anchorage and Denali area? Which campground would you recommend for the first night heading North from Anchorage? We would like to drive an hour or two the first afternoon that we arrive in Anchorage.Thank-you.

We stayed about 90 minutes north of Anchorage in either Nancy Lake Campground or South Rolly Lake Campground. Can't remember which one we stayed at, unfortunately.

It's only about 15 miles but the Eagle River state park is nice, also it used to take reservations??

it's quite expensive to ship fish so why don't you have them hold it for you until you are ready to fly home - then the frozen boxes are good for upto 30 hours :)

Mat-Su Valley located in Willow, AK campground is a great place to stay going north. Matsurvpark.com is their website.It's located at the 90.8 mile marker on the Parks highway. We stayed here a few weeks ago and the people there are very friendly. Check it out.
