Sheridan Suites Key West

This is my first trip to the Keys. My package included the Sheridan Suite across from Smothers(sp?) Beach in Key west, Florida. Can anyone give me any information they have about the location of this hotel? Also any info about the hotel itself? The service? cleaniness? Ect. I want this to be a super experience and I will change my plans to help insure this. Thank you.

We are going to Key West this summer and had looked at the Sheraton Suites for a possible stay. We did Priceline and got the Doubletree however, check out www.tripadvisor.com and do a search for Sheraton Suites Key West once you get to that page there are reviews from people who have stayed there.. That might give you some indication on the hotel.

Personally, I would want to stay at one of the wonderful small hotels/B&B's in old town Key West, rather than out at Smathers Beach. You will either need a car, or have to rely on the hotel shuttle to get to Old Town. It isn't really a great beach anyway, so I'd find one of those awesome tropical hideaways in the heart of Old Town. There are some truly lovely properties.

If you want a "super experience" stay in a B&B or Inn in Old Town. Marquesa is said to be the best.

just me but I'd spring for a few extra bucks and stay downtown..I like hotels better than B&B's but that is just M H O..but it's worth not scanning for parking..scarce and expensive...other people my say it's not a big thing..

I agree you'll be much happier in a nice B&B. If you definitely want a hotel, I've always had good experiences at the Ocean Key at Zero Duval Street, right on the water. Sheraton Suites is nice but Smathers isn't much of a beach (keep in mind none of the Key West beaches are great) and you are about a mile from the southern end of Old Town.
