Sheraton Wild Horse Pass

Has anyone been recently? How does it compare to other Arizona properties? What restaurants do you recommend in the area. Any help would be appreciated.

I live in Phoenix and have been to the resort twice since it opened. STRENGTHS: Close to airport, unique Native American character, showcasing Pima & Maricopa tribes (it is situated right on their reservation), cool "rambling river" feature to swimming pool, equestrian center, launch boat rides to/from nearby Indian casino, interesting spa with Native American-influenced treatments, Kai Restaurant operated by famed Tucson chef Janos Wilder. WEAKNESSES: It is out by itself, but that's not a problem if you have a rental car and don't mind driving to get places, VERY new landscaping making it seem like there's alot of dirt and gravel.

I had a wonderful stay in September, even though it was 100 degrees.

Dinner at Kai was first class; the chef introduced himself to us. The pool was huge with a great waterslide. Lots of activities including horseback riding. The grounds are gorgeous. The spa is beautiful; thick robes and quite soothing. There is an adult pool over there. Take advantage of happy hour for a half price lunch and drinks. We nver made it to the casino.

The regular restaurant was good, usual hotel fare, but not great. I wished they had a coffee bar/quick cafe type place, as Andrew noted, it is far out. There is no place to pick up a muffin and coffee and enjoy the wonderful views. The two double bed rooms were a little on the small side, but the huge bathroom made up for it.

I have never been to other Phoenix area resorts, so I have no comparison there. But it is a lovely resort overall.

It is a beautiful resort. It is located on Native American land and there is NOTHING nearby. Other resorts in Phoenix and Scottsdale have access to shopping and other restaurants. If you have a rental car and don't mind driving then you will be happy at the Sheraton.

Looking forward to doing nothing, but we do have a rental car so we will be able to leave property if we want. Only there for 4 nights. 3 nights prior will be spent attending friends'wedding festivities in Sedona. Might drive down to Tucson one day from Sheraton.

My partner and I are thinking of staying here for our honeymoon the first week of December. Will it be romantic enough? Anyone know whether it will be gay-friendly? Thanks for any help.
