Sheraton Suites on the Hudson
We are booked for this hotel for Spring break. Exactly how hard will transportation be from this hotel to Manhattan?
You can walk to Willow Ave and grab the bus at 19th Street in front of the Tiger Mart and take it into Manhattan (stops at the Port Authority).
Oh, and the bus can take a while to arrive at your stop sometimes, but it's not terrible. The ride itself, once you board the bus, takes like 10 minutes to get to the PA.
Guh, sorry ... more clarification ... time also depends on Lincoln Tunnel traffic, which can be ugly ... or you can take the same bus into Hoboken and grab a PATH train from the Hoboken station.
Lincoln Tunnel is the key factor. If you do in the middle of the day it can take 10 minutes. But I've taken it at rush hour and had it take 45 minutes just to get down the helix. I think bus to PATH is more reliable - but you need to figure about 30 minutes overall.

My girlfriend used to live right outside the tunnel, on 19th Street and Willow, so we took these routes almost daily.
The bus-to-Hoboken PATH route is definitely better if traffic into the tunnel is bad. You could also hang out in Hoboken before heading into the city -- there are some decent restaurants and bars in the 'boken. You pick up the Hoboken-bound bus in front of the Nittaya Thai restaurant, which is kitty corner to the Tiger Mart. This thread is bringing back some memories ... :) |
