Sheraton Sonoma County - Petaluma

Hi - we are planning on staying at the Sheraton Sonoma County in Petaluma. Has anyone stayed there and how far is it from the vineyards in Napa or Sonoma?

Also, can anyone recomend some good wineries/tours?

Haven't stayed there though it gets decent reviews. It's about a 35 min. drive to Sonoma and an hour to Napa.

What ?!?
It's 10-15 mins from Petaluma to
town of Sonoma, 30 mins Petaluma to town of Napa,
and 30 mins from Petaluma to Healdsburg
(except 3-6pm, M-F, Hwy 101 Northbound).

Vineyards are 3-5 minutes in any direction from the Petaluma Sheraton.
Compass Maps makes an excellent
Napa/Sonoma Map that shows all the
wineries-you can order it from their website or stop by any drugstore once you get here.

Maybe I'm a slow driver (?) but I was married in Napa last Sept. and traveled there about once a week from Petaluma for months to plan the wedding and it always took me about an hour -- sometimes closer to 45 m. if I got lucky, but typically an hour.

Well, I live in Petaluma and have been driving to the town of Sonoma approx 3 days a week and no way does it take me
30 mins. (If it did I'd be late for my appointments! :)
Your zip code is skewed
anywho-the Sheraton is on the East side
of Petaluma and the zip is 94954.

An hour to Napa ? Calistoga maybe...OK, if your driving 30 MPH, (and my hubby will tell you
I am the slowest driver in the county)

It appears you are using a google search ? mapquest ? or such to get your "driving times"?
Those programs are so often innaccurate so it's good to ask a local who drives the roads frequently.

I guess we will just have to agree to disagree, pineco.
