Sheraton In Harrisburg Pa
 

Thinking of going to Hershey Park this summer and thinking of staying in the Sheraton. Does anyone know how close this is to Hershey Park, the neighborhood good, any info would be appreciated. Thank you.

The Sheraton used to be a Marriott. I was there recently, and was impressed. The remodel is done all in a menswear look, think Ralph Lauren. It looked like a nice outdoor pool too. Restaurants close by would be Chili's, Friendly's. Waffle House and Bob Evans. Also, Target is just behind the hotel. It is about 9 miles from Hersheypark.

Not sure of the quality, but I was thinking of using Starwood Points there this summer. It looked to be no more then 20 minutes away.

Just curious, unless you are using Starwood Points, why stay there? I'm sure the rates are less than the Hershey Lodge (certainly less than the Hotel Hershey) but when you factor in travel time, parking fees, etc is the cost that different? Even within Hershey there are more economical options.

In terms of Hershey Park, if you are going to the park with kids, I would STRONGLY advise you to go to the water part of the park first. If practical, as soon as it's open. Stay in that section until 1 or so. The crowds get really large after noon while the rest of the park becomes far more manageable.

My son works for starwood (mother co) and I can use his discount. We are also going to do some touring, traveling around and not only staying at Hershey.
