Shark Attacks in Florida---Bark but No Bite?
Last year there was constant bickering here about the danger of shark attacks in Florida....and should everyone avoid the FL shores?, etc.
So where are all the Chicken Littles now?
I haven't heard much this year about this supposed steady increase in aggressive sharks?
Where are they?
Are they all asleep on the job?
The sharks or the Chicken Littles???
could it be a plethora of bite me ensembles and thongs have confused the beasties?
Sharks fear rap music and navel rings.
I'm sure that has something to do with it.
They also don't like greasy foods so slather on the suntan lotion.
Funny you should ask! Just this morning they had four guys on the Today Show talking about their recent experience with sharks. Apparently they were fishing somewhere between West Palm Beach and the Bahamas, and knew there were a lot of sharks around because they had already caught four. Then their boat took on water and sank within 7 minutes, leaving them dangling in the water amongst the fishing bait. Luckily they were rescued before the sharks attacked any of them.....thanks to one of the fishermen's cell phone! I'm sure it was scarey as hell, but thankfully all were just fine.
Lets get the sharks' take on that last one!
"Thanks to the fishermans cell phone"???
Why did they shark grab the phone and make a run for it?
Did the phone ring and the shark was so puzzled/scared by the ringing that he swam away?
This is so confusing.
There are sharks in Florida?
My travel agent didn't tell me this!
Since when?
C'mon how could anyone not know there are sharks in the waters?? You would have to live in Tim buck 2 not to have known this I thought it was common knowledge. I think you would have a better chance of being struck by lightening then attacked by a shark in the Florida waters but the again------------------who knows?
Hey "Surprised" - it's a joke son, it's a joke!
There are bites all the time. This year the press is just down playing it.
Huh,
Uh, maybe they used the cell phone to call the Coast Guard and were rescued?
When I was in Ft. Lauderdale early June a 10 year old was attacked on a South Florida beach. The news didn't say where and there wasn't to much talk about it. I would think the press would keep it hush-hush to not scare the tourists away. I wonder why they don't use some kind of nets. Just curious.
