ShameOnOrbitz.com (WooGo)
ShameOnOrbitz.com -- It had to happen.
It's just another step in the efforts toward closing down of WooGo Lincoln Center Apartments as the illegal operation as a 'three-star' hotel as promoted by one of the largest online travel agencies. Please, take a minute of your time and help! Here is how: Go to Orbitz.com 'Customer Feedback' -- send them the www.ShameOnOrbitz.com site, and ask them if it is for real -- question them about it. Or better, let them know that this doesn't help your trust in Orbitz. Only one minute of your time, and the form to email Orbitz.com is here: https://faq.orbitz.com/cgi-bin/orbit...user/home.php? Thank you for your support! |
Have you sued Woogo yet?

Is there no legal recourse to prevent them from changing names and reopening under another name?

"Is there no legal recourse to prevent them from changing names and reopening under another name?"
These guys have years of practice and seem to be excellent at concealing their identities. Fox news visited vacant London corporate addresses trying to find them. Other news teams as well. I've pinpointed several middle-eastern locations and names that I have not published. Historically, there seems to be no legal recourse. Perhaps with additional legal pressure (like sending a consumer complaint to the NYC Attorney General) and with enough exposure and individual action (spread the word, and complain to your agents/reporters!), it might be possible to stop this illegal activity. Orbitz, one of the world's largest travel agents, is currently facilitating this illegal operation. If you have felt a surge of cheer for these efforts, I encourage you to put that energy toward action! Take a minute to educate Orbitz, NYC Attny General, Expedia, travel agents, reporters, etc... Maybe, skip the next fun but irrelavent Fodors post, and take a minute to be an agent of positive change for the travel industry! You can complain to Orbitz, here: http://tinyurl.com/qwmz8 Thank you! |
Done.

Thanks -- I actually got a relavent response to one of my 4 complaints through that link. It said this:
"The website you are referring in your e-mail is not a part of Orbitz and we are unable to comment on it. The information and rates listed on the Orbitz website is provided to us directly by the hotel(s). The rating system of the hotel is derived from a variety of sources: industry ratings, (like AAA and the Michelin Guide), personal evaluations by the Orbitz hotel and customer-care teams and your customer feedback. We value you as a customer and look forward to serving you again in the future." So, to clarify what Obitz is really saying would be this: "We aren't responsible for what is on our site. Please trust us, but when your experience that we just sold you is part of an illegal process that runs people out of their homes, sorry. That information is provided by the hotels." 1 Minute of time. |
OK Buddy, here ya go:
Why would your company continue to endorse (by making available) The Lincoln Center "Hotel" in New York City owned and operated by Woogo? I know for a fact you have been warned of this illegal operation. They are operating an apartment complex as a hotel which is illegal. They (and you) are deceiving people by showing fictitious photos to entice travelers and then giving the traveller a piece of crap for a room. Expedia learned of this and no longer offers the facility. You learn of this and say sorry, the photos aren't from us....and do nothing to stop the charade. Shame on Orbitz indeed! |
I've read through all of the websites and I'm confused. Did you book your reservation through orbitz or expedia? I agree, I think its absurd and I hope this is stopped immediately, I am just trying to understand the situation a little better. Thanks.
|
Sorry, I didn't see Pilates message... Its all becoming more clear...
|
GoT
LOL Save that with your keepsakes, OK? |
Thanks for your help! We need more voices. Orbitz is still accepting reservations.
(Pilates, I hope that you sent that directly to Orbtiz, thanks.) |
Another one?
I thought this was "Fodor's", not "Kelly's"! |
Good job, Kelly. Remind me never to get on your bad side!

I don't know why they deleted my reply from B___ from O______ but here it is again.
Dear Orbitz Customer, Thank you for contacting Orbitz. We are glad that we came to your assistance and sincerely appreciate your taking the time to write to us. We value you as a customer and look forward to serving you again in the future. Sincerely, B____ OrbitzTLC www.Orbitz.com Orbitz - The faster, easier way to find the trip you want. |
ibdkb: Yes, I sent that to the "tinyurl" link you provided.
I wouldn't be surprised if they soon make the "hotel" unavailable. I bet quite a few people have contacted them in the last day since you encouraged us to write. The squeaky wheel (let's call you The Michellin Man) gets the grease. They sent to me this reply, which I thought was pretty good. WAY better than that crazy response to GoTravel!: Dear O##### Customer, Thank you for contacting O#####. Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience that this may have caused. In response to your recent e-mail, please note, if you have any issues or if you wish to give any feedback regarding your stay in the hotel, you may please write to us and we will forward it to the appropriate department. You may also e-mail your feedback at 'O#####feedback@o#####.com'. Please note that O##### and any online travel agency rely on hotels to provide us with accurate descriptions of their properties and amenities. When we do learn of a problem, O##### takes immediate action to prevent any future disappointing experiences for our customers. Thanks again for bringing this issue to our attention, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We value you as a customer and look forward to serving you again in the future. Sincerely, |
Is three weeks immediate?
And again, the Orbitz "trust us, but not really our fault" thing. Burns me up. Is there no responsibility? The fire-saftey and occupancy violations specifically naming WooGo are public record. See http://tinyurl.com/qzvuy |
id: "Is three weeks immediate?"
Good point. Let's hope that they're finally hearing what you've been saying. Let me ask you something, there was a hearing date at the end of April for this violation. Was it postponed or something? Do you know? |
I think WooGo was a no-show and the date was rescheduled. If you go through the violations, you can see the upcoming court dates.
Oh, and Orbitz actually told you "immediate" two days ago? Still booking. If you haven't yet, please complain to Orbitz, here: http://tinyurl.com/qwmz8 |
Opps...should I have blanked some of that out?
|
Based upon my recent experience with Orbitz, I'm not surprised by their "immediate(lack of)action". I received a similar "sorry, we're not responsible" reponse from Orbitz customer service when I complained about a vacation package, and the Orbitz website representations...certainly, my experience wasn't nearly as bad as Kelly's...but it tells me that my experience with Orbitz wasn't a fluke...and could have been worse...Shame on Orbitz indeed.
