Shakespeare in the Partk tickets
We are thinking about trying to catch "Two Gentlemen of Verona" and I was wondering if anyone knows what time people line up for tickets. It says they are available at 1 pm on the day of show both in the park and at the Public Theater. Is either site less of a hassle in anyones experience?
Thanks |
Don;t know about the theater - but I have seen people lining up in the Park at around 9am. I believe they're sold out every day - and coming anywhere near 1pm is useless.

Thanks nyt. I remembered seeing lines there in the past. The website does say you can get tickets between 1 and 3 at the theater. I might give that a shot.

Anyone gone straight to the theater for tickets?? |
Two Gents opens on Tuesday, and reviews will probably be out in about a week and a half or so. It's much easier to get tickets (a) before reviews are published, (b) weekdays and (c) as single seats. I was able to get a single ticket to see Liev Schriever in Henry V last summer at about 2 in the afternoon in the middle of the week, just by walking up to the Box Office at the theater. On weekends, the lines usually start forming no later than 8 am and someone comes out of the theater at about 10 and says "everyone beyond this point will probably not get tickets". I live on the UWS, so I usually go to the Park, I've never tried to get tickets at the Public. Good luck.
