Shady poolside with great access to the beach?

Looking at Destin or heading a little further south to the longboat key area this summer.

What is comes down to is have a great pool [for the kids] with lots of shade for mom and me to relax in....

Access to the beach is nice, although we will only make a couple trips during the week. As far as quality if the beach - want to make sure that are no problems like lots of seaweed or bugs on the beach...

Traveling in mid-June...

Recommendations?

ttt for stash. I know nothing of Destin. Longboat is great in summer and the beaches there are clean. The only two places I've stayed are the Long Boat Key Club and the Colony. Both had sunny pools but lots of things for kids to do and lots of kids.

No seeums are hard to avoid at sunrise and sunset. LMF

Stash - you will probably have better luck with answers if you start a new thread with Destin and/or Longboat Key in the title.

"Shady poolside with great access to the beach?" could be asking about any beach/pool anywhere in the USA. (there is no special forum for Florida - or any other state)

In the summer, there are lots of storms that brew in the Gulf, churning up seaweed that washes ashore the next day. Sorry, Stash, there's no getting around mother nature.
