sfo tours

Hi, I will be in SF for 5 days in April and want to see alcatraz, muir woods, carmel monterey and yosemite. I will not have a car. Would you recommend the guided tours or would I be best to 'do it alone?'
Thanks.

Patabel - When you can't find posts that you've previously made, it usually doesn't mean that they've disappeared. Click your name at the top of this screen and you'll see all previous posts, one with an answer to your question already. :)

Now you're saying 5 days, while you original post said 6. You'd have enough difficulty doing it all in 6, even more difficulty in 5. See other post.

Whatever you do, don't rent a car to see Alcatraz.

Sorry, I haven't taken any of the guided tours so it is hard to comment about them.

I just wanted to comment on your message heading. SFO actually refers to the San Francisco Airport only so Fodorites looking through the message titles might think you are just interested in airport tours and may not click on your message to offer advice.

Good luck with your trip planning!

I took grayline tours to Muir Woods, city tour, chinatown and loved them all.
