SFO to San Jose
I am arriving at SFO (in July) and my best friend who I will be visiting in San Jose cannot meet me at the airport due to work commitments. I don't want to have to change my Jet Blue reservations. I am arriving around noon time and am looking for any reliable and not overly expensive ideas about to get to her home. Thanks so much for any ideas!!

You can take BART one stop to the Millbrae station and change to Cal Train to San Jose.
How to get to your friends house? That depends on where she lives. |
Also, you can rent a car one way from Hertz or Enterprise and drop it off at their local office near your friend's house.

If Janis's suggestion of BART and Caltrain does not work out - if Caltrain stop is too far from friend's house, you can take a shuttle.
Go to SFO website, check "ground transportation" - and see which shuttle companies serve San Jose. They deliver to the door wherever your friend lives. |

It's pretty expensive, though, something like $60.00. I'd take BART and Caltrain, and if your friend can't pick you up in San Jose, call a cab to take you to her house. (Be sure to ask her which San Jose station to go to, I think there are three). |
Thanks for all of these ideas. I will check out the SFO ground transportation web site...great idea!! I don't think the $60.00(ish) shuttle option is too bad either. After ten hours of traveling, I'm not too thrilled with the thought of dealing with BART and the Caltrain.
Again, thanks for these suggestions. Any more??!!! |
SFO to my house (I live in south SJ) is $45 with Super Shuttle.
