SFO or Oakland Airport?
 

I'm going to be in SF soon I'm staying in Fisherman's Wharf area. <BR>I'll be arriving mid morning and was wondering whether I can take public transportation or BART from SFO to Fisherman's Wharf.

Not Yet. Bart does not go to SFO. Bart does go to Oakland, but you have to shuttle over to the station from the airport. Having lived near Oakland (berkeley) for many years I am unphased by groups of rappers and homeless people, but if this kind of thing scares you you may just want to skip BART from Oakland and go to SFO. Oakland is more convienient, but either way you will need another form of transportation to get to the Wharf area as Bart does not go that direction. Check SF Muni website or take a taxi or shuttle. Given the distance taxi ride will be expensive.

Thanks. I decided to take a shuttle rather than public transportation from either airport to the Wharf. So I should rephrase my question....is it more convenient taking the shuttle from Oakland or SFO to Fisherman's Wharf?

fly to SFO and take the shuttle to SF. It's much less traumatic.

that's what I or rather we were planning to do...fly into SF but I saw Southwest had fares to Oakland for $85rt (they're probably gone by now) so we were wondering if it would be difficult to get from Oakland Airport to Fisherman's Wharf. <BR>Thanks!

You can get a shuttle from Oakland quite easily but it will be more expensive. Taxi fares are quite a bit more especially after 11 pm at night.
