Easy, just slice the cake, put in doggy bags, we'll take them to go =P~

Shanghainese May 3rd, 2007 03:11 PM

ET: You are not a grape so you can't be easily crushed, how about you dancing on the table after having the rice wine dessert?

FainaAgain May 3rd, 2007 03:14 PM

And I am rehearsing a dance... what for? :((

Maybe. If I don't have to wear a nametag & if Faina promises to dance.

Shanghainese May 4th, 2007 01:28 PM

Found out from the Fodor's editor that one of my posts on the Asia forum was quoted in the 1st edition Shanghai guide in bookstores today! I'm trying to see if they will offer me a free copy ...

LucieV May 4th, 2007 01:45 PM

Faina, keep rehearsing, I do want to see/meet you. I'm really considering this...but I'm also really bad about making commitments. If I were to just "show up," is that kosher? (I wouldn't expect to participate in the dinner.)

easytraveler May 4th, 2007 01:51 PM

Lucie: If you come, we can all do the Kosher Grape Tabletop Dance together! :S-

Shanghainese! BIG Congratulations! So you're an author now! ((Y))

LucieV May 4th, 2007 02:03 PM

Do the unquoted have to sit at a separate table from the quoted?

FainaAgain May 4th, 2007 02:44 PM

yes, and the twice quoted will request a captain's table :))

Shanghainese May 4th, 2007 03:01 PM

Starving authors sit at a separate table to sign books!

Shanghainese May 4th, 2007 03:07 PM

iamq is quoted in the 1st edition Kauai guide so he's sit with me!

FainaAgain May 4th, 2007 03:41 PM

I am only endorsing my photographs!

How do I request a space in the Arlington cemetary?

Kealalani May 4th, 2007 03:58 PM

My Dear Red Friend living in a Blue state
I love Arlington Cemetary and would be happy to take a day to pick you out a lovely plot.

You were talking Arlington Massachusetts???

MelissaHI May 4th, 2007 10:01 PM

Congratulations Shanghainese!! 15 minutes of fame has now been extended to 20, for you!

Now for champagne and teacups...I'm going to have to think about this one. Maybe no champagne, but I can buy a white to complement ET's Bastardo?

Shanghainese May 7th, 2007 08:51 AM

I am a foodie, no idea about wines, you guys have to decide ...

easytraveler May 7th, 2007 09:07 AM

From random readings on Fodors, it seems like Bill and Martin don't drink. However, since we'll be using teacups, maybe we could surreptitiously spike their tea? :-"

For that we need vodka...

Faina, what's the best brand of vodka?

Mels: guess the wine list is up to us! ((D))

iamq May 7th, 2007 10:44 AM

Since I learned that I am quoted in the new Kaua'i book, my head has inflated up to be the size of a large helium ballon, so I may have trouble getting in through the door. By the way, I will be signing autographs. No worries, I will be bring 8 x 10 glossies to sign for all of my adoring fan.

ET,
I won't be responsible for my actions if I drink that doctored tea. That last time I drank (20 years ago), the police showed up and I got my picture in the paper. Wouldn't that be fun!?

Bill

FainaAgain May 7th, 2007 11:02 AM

Iamq if this is the case this year, you won't have to pay to print those glossies :))

MelissaHI May 7th, 2007 12:02 PM

Call the chiropractor! His head is too big! whoo are the autographs free? I'd pay to see iamq that drunk...

FainaAgain May 7th, 2007 02:23 PM

Melissa, we have our work cut out for us - to make sure Iamq's glass is always full :))

iamq May 7th, 2007 04:41 PM

Now, I am really getting scared. First, there's no broccoli/beef. That's bad enough, BUT now I'm having this visual of Mels and Shang holding me down on the table while Faina pours Vodka down my gullet one tea cup at a time. That would be a hard one to explain to my friends at my meetings! =P~
