Sex and the City Tour

My sister and I are huge Sex and the City fans and I was thinking about surprising her with the tour for her birthday.

Has anybody taken the tour or heard anything about it?

My friend recently did the tour. What specific questions do you have?

I just want to know if it's a good tour for fans. I would hate to waste $40 and 3.5 hours on something disappointing.

It might be more fun (and less expensive) to consider making your own tour. It's pretty easy to find some of the major sites through Google (i.e. Carrie's apartment), and that way you can see what you're really interested in from your favorite episodes.

Also, not sure if either of you has the series on DVD, but one of the special features is called "Location, location, location," and is a guide to some of the hotspots used in the show.

Is this in any particular city or can a guy get this type of tour in say... Wichita or Pocatello?

Tarheels...

Thanks for your idea! I think that would be a lot of fun and it would be a lot cheaper! And we could see exactly what we want to see instead of what the tour thinks we want to see.

From what I've heard, part of the fun of the tour is being with other fans of the show. Goldstar.com is a website that offers discounts to many things for specific dates. Depending on when her birthday is, you might see if they've got discounted tickets.

I just signed up for the Sex & the City Tour through on location. Here is a 20% off coupon code when if you decide to purchase: STMC20. I did it two years ago with girlfriends and had a great time. I'm going this time with my sisters.

eetaylor and anybody else who comes across this: this is an old post from 2009. I actually ended up deciding against it last year and my sister and I just went on our own to the only place we really cared to see (Carrie's apartment) which I understand the tour bus no longer goes to. I can't remember the address anymore but I know it was on Jane St. in Greenwich Village. It is actually someone's home and they have posted a no tresspassing sign on the stoop, but you can still get a good picture standing in front of it. Nobody bothered us there.

I enjoyed the tour too.
Not having to wait in the long line for a cupcake was a plus
