Seward lodging

We are trying to decide where to stay in Seward this summer. We won't have a car so the Windsong, which I've heard good things about, is not an option. I'm considering Harborview Inn, Breeze Inn and Edgewater Hotel. Does anyone know if Hotel Seward has improved since it is no longer owned by Best Western? We want to be able to walk around town and the harbour, so convenient location is important. Any opinions would be appreciated.

i stayed at harbourview 9 years ago and i remember liking it a lot. it's pretty central so we walked everywhere. plus it's close to ray's, our favorite restaurant there. hope it's still around. they had the best clam chowder.

I would be interested in this answer too. I am trying to decide between the two of these places too. I have heard mixed reviews on the Breeze Inn. The reviews on the Harborview have been favorable.

The Harborview Inn has some off-property duplexes that are right accross the street from the water and are beautifully furnished inside. We stayed there last year and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Thanks, I am sure that's where I will end up. The hotel staff seems great.

Has anyone heard of Murphy's Motel?
If so, what are your opinions?
It looks like it is in a good location.

Stayed at the Edgewater about four years ago. Very new at the time. Hotel was very nice, but a bit pricey. Would certainly stay there again.

I stay at Windsong even w/out a car. They have frequent shuttles to dock and town since they own/operate Kenai Fjords Tours. Right next door is a GREAT restaurant the "Salmon Bake". Oh, they serve other stuff, but it's a fun place. Also, the restaurant at Windsong is nice too. I'll bet if you asked nicely they would run you up to Exit Glacier too. Maybe not. Maybe a LONG walk! HA! Also, stay tuned: Holiday Inn Express opening dockside in June. Very nice. VERY.
