Seward Alaska lodging and Millers Landing
I have read some negatives re Millers Landing area in Seward, but we have been looking at the Alaska Base Camp yurts and a place called the Beach House Treefort, both on Lowell Point. Are those in the same area as Millers Landing? Has anyone had any experience at either of those units? We have a group of 6 and need two bathrooms so we are looking for two cabins/rooms; our choices have narrowed down to those mentioned above, Stony Creek Inn or Bear Creek Cabins, both of which are north of town and not in an area with "views".

A couple of years ago, we stayed at Harborview Inn's off-property duplexes. They were wonderful.
They were right accross the street from the water and were beautifully decorated and very clean. I believe each unit had two bedrooms, a nice living room and full kitchen. |
We stayed at Alaska Saltwater Lodge right next to Millers Landing. We loved this place. It had a huge living room with the most incredible views of Ressurection Bay. There were two bedroom and 21 1/2 bathrooms. I would stay here again anytime.

..and to think I thought i had previewed my reply. There were 2 bedrooms and 1 1/2 bathrooms, a large kitchen and living room with gorgeous views. Outside on the deck was a barbeque. We stayed 5 nights.

Yes...I've heard many positive things about the Saltwater Lodge, but, alas, it's booked up. Apparently it is late to be looking around, so many places are already taken, especially those that can handle a group of 5 or 6. There is room at Harborview (but no view) or in cabins north of Seward such as the wooded area around Bear Lake.
