September Lodging in Stanley

I'm having trouble finding 1 night lodging in Stanley for Sunday, Sept 10, 06. We were looking at the Salmon Lodge, but they require 2 night stay on the weekends. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

We are staying at the Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch, but this place looked very appealing to us as well.

Thanks cmcfong, I checked it out it looks great, however, I'm just looking for a nights stop on the way to Glacier. I've found a few places, No Holiday Inns, Best Westerns, ect., could be found. I'll be call shortly and hopefully, one of them will fit the bill. I had already checked out the Rocky Mountain Ranch web site and I do believe you will have a great vacation.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I booked 3 rooms at Riverside Motel for one weekend night a few years ago - they weren't warm & fuzzy about the idea to start (gave me their 'less desirable' rooms, but they told me they were doing this at booking time, to be fair to people who were booking for longer periods), but in the end it worked out just fine. I had three of the rooms in the Sawtooth Fourplex for my group, they were just fine, and the owner really was just as pleasant as could be. By the way, 'less desirable' just meant they weren't right on the river, probably no big deal if you are only passing through. I do recommend them. www.riversidemotel.biz.

You can find more lodging in Stanley at www.stanleycc.org, if you haven't already stumbled across the site.

The Sawtooths are absolutely lovely; they SHOULD be a national park, quite frankly, it is kind of political as far as why they aren't, if you read any history of the area. You might consider spending an extra night & hiking to Sawtooth Lake, if you have the time.

Actually we stayed at Riverside two or three years ago, too. It was perfectly fine and because we were there in May we were the only folks in the place. I loved the sound of the river running by our room. Plus having a kitchen was a great thing. Hope it works for you. It is a splendid area.

Thanks kmk and cmcfong. I did find the Stanley CC lodging site and have targeted the Stanley High Country Inn, The Riverside Motel, the Redwood Cabins and Valley Creek Motel. The Riverside motel will be getting a call tomorrow and if not there, we'll try the Stanley High Country Inn and go down the line from there.

Thanks
