September in Vermont?

I are planning a vacation for the last week of Sept and are leaning toward Vermont. Can anyone tell me the typical weather conditions at that time?
Thanks!
Tannya

That would be "we" are planning, not "I" are planning! Sorry.

Tanya-
Weather is hard to predict in New England in the fall! Expect it to be on the cooler side-probably in the 50s. However, as unpredictable as the weather is, it may snow, or it may be 70! Check out weather.com as they have statistical info for you to check out. If you decide on Vermont, I would suggest staying in the northern part of the state as you may get to see the beginnings of fall foliage. Both the Burlington and Stowe areas are great places to base your trip.

Tanya-
Just checked out weather.com out of curiousity:
For Burlington VT avg high in Sept is 69 while average high in Oct is 57. Nights are cooler, in the 40s. Hope this helps!

We've done a similar trip twice in recent years and have had very nice luck with weather. Usually crisp days in the high 60's to 70's, cool nights but not chilly. Vermont has more to see/do, but NH has many worthwhile offerings as well. But then, so does Maine, and Massachusetts, and upstate NY. Can be hard to limit your search/plans!
Woodstock Inn, Inn at Shelburne Farms, Stowehof Inn and Equinox are all favorites for different reasons.
Good luck with your planning.

September is the most beautiful month in New England: Clear cool days with bright blue sky and puffy white clouds! The end of September is also foliage season; you'll have trouble finding accommodations even if you book NOW. Add to the list above, the Quechee Inn. Have fun!

Thank you all for your input. I'll get busy planning right away. I hadn't considered that we would have trouble with places to stay but with the fall colors beginning that will be the case I'm sure! Thanks again.
Tannya
