Self guided tour in Charelston, SC?

Hi! I have been searching in the forums and have found some great information about things to do and places to eat in Charleston, thanks! My boyfriend and I are drive up there from Florida and we are bringing our bikes. We are staying in the Barksdale Inn which is in the historic district, so we were hoping to cruise around on our bikes and check out the amazing houses.

Does anyone know where I might find a self guided tour on the web that I can print out before we leave (tomorrow night :-P)? I would love to be able to create a route and have information on the houses we are riding by. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Your hotel is likely to have a brochure -- you can also get one at the South Carolina info center on Rt 95. You will find it is easy to get around the historic district. Charleston is one of my favorite cities.

Hey,
Leave the bikes home & walk. It is soooo crowded on the cobblestone side walks that you will be pushing more than riding. Start your tour on East Bay St. Walk along the battery to White Point Gardens. Don't miss Church St, King St and Ansonborough neighborhood. All the restaurants are good in this area. Enjoy!

Here is a second opinion to leave the bikes and walk. Many streets are cobblestone or brick and very narrow and you would kill yourself trying to ride a bike.

Also want to add that street traffic is very heavy in Charleston.
