Seeking upscale historic inn Maryland
 

Am trying to help my bro and sis-in-law find a specific inn for a getaway they desperately need to get some R&R from family problems.

They saw this inn some time ago on the Travel Channel series with Samantha Brown(?) - not the upscale hotel series but the previous inn series. It is apparently upscale and serves gourmet dinners as well as breakfasts - and was originally a small village - is now a central buidling with a few outlying cottages.

Can;t find the info on the Travel Channel website or those of the travel mags - or by googling. Any info or suggestions would be most appreciated.

OK, well I don't watch the Travel Channel but I do know the Inn at Perry Cabin is a very upscale destination with a fabulous kitchen.

You could very well be talking about The Inn at Little Washington, which is actually in Virginia very close to D.C. Samantha has done a segment on this place several times. It's absolutely gorgeous, a Relais & Chateaux pick, the food highly-rated. Also VERY expensive - rooms upwards of $400/night and dinners over $100/person. But worth it, I hear. Check out their website.
Also check out Royal Oak Manor in Royal Oak, MD....this place is beautiful, peaceful, right on the Chesapeake. No restaurant, however, but many closeby.
The Robert Morris Inn is also fantastic!Your description sounds like this place, actually. Have stayed there - the food is great - James Michener used to rave about the crabcakes; he was right!!!

The Inn at Perry Cabin is in St Michaels and is quite upscale. It was a Laura Ashley inn when it was completed and the people who've purchased it are still running an upscale property.

The State House Inn in Annapolis is also quite nice and you'd be able to tour a delightful city while you're visiting.

This might be the place. I know it is located in MD. I know everyone gets there own little cottage and they serve breakfast to your door every morning.

The Inn at Perry Cabin is exclusive and it is in St. Michael's. There's also the Robert Morris Inn in Oxford. They cook the best crab cakes in the world. Harrison's at Tilghman Island isn't as grand as Perry Cabin but still a sprawling place that has crab cakes and family dining as well.
