Sedona savvy???

Hello out there.. Looking for Sedona advice. Traveling with 3 kids (10, 11 and 10) late May early june... Junipine or Hilton??? Don't have much time (two days) so... is the pink jeep tour REALLY worth the $300 it will cost the five of us. Slide Rock State park?
Jerome worth it??? Restaurant recommendations would be great.... Anyone been to the cathedral? Help and thanks in advance....

your kids will love the jeep tour, yes it is really worth it, unless you have your own 4 weel drive and are adventurous enough to venture out on your own. the "roads" are public for anyone to explore.

Junipine is in a wooded/forest area, far from the town center, ie, food, etc. and it is on a windy road 89a. can't comment on the rest.. hope this helps..

LOVED Sedona! Yes, the pink tour is worth EVERY penny!

Slide Rock Park was great fun for us ALL! Watch your step, its REALLY slippery and lots of people wiped out! :( Also, it gets very busy and they'll stop admission, so go EARLY.

The Cathedral is kinda amazing, but the parking there is atrocious, too...in case you can't get it, you really DO see MUCH of it just driving by.

Try The Cowboy Club and Oaxaca for good, moderate priced eats!

We were there about a month ago. I was very disappointed in Jerome (the view was great; what else was I supposed to see/do?); a little disappointed in Sedona (the large building of 30+ galleries was fun; the town itself is pretty tacky); loved Chapel of the Holy Cross and the surrounding scenery.

Sedona is a beautiful spot, you will love it, even though it's starting to get over developed. We stayed at the Sky Ranch Lodge, and would highly recommend this place, especially with kids. There are acres of grounds to wander around with lots of interesting
flora and fauna. The best overlook of Sedona is located about 500' from the Motel entrance. Lots of great hiking in and around the area - the Devil's Bridge hike was absolutely amazing.

I stayed two nights in April,2003 at the Hilton Sedona with my two children ages,8 & 12 and I was very happy with the accomodations. We had a one bedroom suite with a fireplace. The hotel has views of the red rocks on one side and is a 5 minute drive to climb Bell Rock and Cathedral Rock. It is also close to the Chapel of the Holy Cross. The heated pool is open at night which was great for the kids. There is also a hot tub and outdoor fire where my husband and I could enjoy a drink while watching the children swim at night, very relaxing after a day of climbing. We took the pink jeep broken arrow tour. We liked it but it was a bit long and bumpy. My family prefered climbing the rocks rather than driving on them , but that's just us. We enjoyed the Cowboy club restarant. We also visited Jerome. I wouldn't plan on spending more than two hours there. The view is great and there are some galleries and restarants but that is about it. We ate at the haunted hamburger and the service was horrendous, 2 and 1/2 hours to get lunch. Hope this is helpful. Enjoy Sedona.
