Sedona restaurants -Dress code
 

What should I pack to wear to some of Sedona's nicer restaurants. I wasn't planning on bringing more than khakis and hiking boots on this trip, but would hate to miss out on the good restaurants because I didn't have the appropriate clothes. Suggestions for 30 something male are appreciated.

Sedona is a very casual town. Don't know about the hiking boots, (although they wouldn't be very visable under pants legs) but khaki pants and a clean sports shirt (not t-shirt with logo) should get you into most places.

We're leaving tomorrow. Going to some really nice restaurants on a 3rd time trip to the area. Called ahead to all. Was told a "collared shirt and nice slacks" for gents. You might want to put a pair of loafers in your bag and you'll be perfect.

Enchantment Resort dining room (main), Shugrue's, El Rincon in the Telacapaque, and for fun, the Hitching Post on 89A for lunch. There are some posh others but somehow they don't go with the "spirit" of Sedona for me. And, although this sounds silly, for beautiful sunset views and OK American food, you might consider the restaurant at the airport---don't even know if it has a name---anyone could tell you. Know that right now they are under a high fire danger alert and many of the hiking trails are closed. You might hike Bell Rock but the forest I hear is closed. Boynton Canyon trail is also closed. If you're frustrated, take a day trip up to the GC which will most likely be open since it's a NP.

We tried 3 places there this past winter. None were expecially fancy. Our favorite was Robert's Creekside for some innovative dishes & excellent friendly service. A table in the backs gives you pretty view of the red rocks at sunset. We liked it so much that we ate there 2 nites. Also enjoyed Javelina Cantina and Dahl & DiLuca. Enjoy your trip.

Thanks again Judy and kam. I have read about the forest closings, and have to admit I am a little disappointed, but I suspect it won't matter once I get there and start having fun. I do have a few days planned at the GC after, so I am sure I will get my fill of hiking in then. I appreciate your suggestions!

Kam is right--the restaurant at the airport is quite nice, with a fusion-y cuisine and fun views of planes taking off and landing. Not at all what you would expect! And you should go up to Airport Mesa anyway for the justly-famous scenic overlook. Enjoy!
