I like hiking in the morning at the Airport Vortex and then wrap around the trail..then head to the Coffee Pot for breakfast!
Lots of people gather at the top of the road at the Airport for sunset.

Sunrise up on airport mesa, the viewpoint next to Sky Ranch Lodge, is also a good place for sunrise. And right after that, it is only a couple of minutes to breakfast at the airport cafe.

Those photos on the sunset at Cathedral Rock were taken at the Crescent Moon Picnic Area. Though different, Airport does not compare. I went to both.

It took me a while to find the place.

The girl at the entrance booth gave vague and incorrect instructions. I jumped rocks and ended up crossing the creek but that wasn't what I wanted so i jumped back. I started some other convoluted approach and gave up. Then found the spot I wanted without doing anything difficult. It didn't take long before I was joined by several other people. Standing right beside me was somebody photographing a bride and groom with Cathedral Rock behind them

This is a vortex sight. I was there on a Saturday evening and there were 4 weddings taking place outside there. One was on the rocks beside the Creek.

hen I was there a bunch of kids kept jumping into the creek and ruined the reflection. Also, some guy was paddling a kayak up and down the creek. I think he saw us and did it on purpose.

If you want one very short scenic hike do the Boynton Canyon Vista. It's in West Sedona (the same direction as the Picnic Area except on the north side instead of the south side of the road). This is not the full Boynton Canyon hike but a slight detour at the start.

Also, you can park at the bell Rock Parking lot and walk around that area. Very scenic.
