Well, both are stunning.
Sedona is more developed and has lots of hotels, restaurants, and shopping. It's a lot less driving, assuming you are starting from Phoenix. I highly recommend a jeep tour or picnicing/swimming in Oak Creek Canyon.
Monument Valley is a trek, but there are fewer crowds. Go on the 'drive yourself' loop and get a closeup view of the valley and traditional Navajo culture. If you are going during 'off peak' tourist months, you will have the place virtually to yourself - the silence and standing next to the giant spires is breathtaking. There are few services, so pack a lunch.

Thanks a lot Sbustobante.
Seems like we have to go to both places.
Have you been to Casle Valley, Bryce, Zion and Grand Canyon S rim or N rim also ? How are they compared to Sedona and Monument Valley.
We are planning a road trip from Las Vegas - ABQ or Grand Junction but dont know which places we should visit on our way yet. Goin from Las Vegas sept 26 next year and have to be at ABQ/GJ at oct 2.

I've been to all of the above, and all are worth seeing.
Since you are already going to be covering a lot of ground, you might want to cross Castle Valley off the list since it's pretty far north.
Are you a hiker, or are you going to keep this a road trip?
Bryce and Zion are basically next door to eat other, maybe you could stay in Kanab and see both assuming you aren't looking to camp in either park. If you aren't planning on hiking, you might want to schedule a day in each. The North Rim is comparitively close by - I prefer it to the South Rim as it is less touristy, but there are also fewer services like hotels. At a minimum, do take a day hike on the rim while you are there - if you are in shape and more of a hiker, do at least a short hike into the canyon.
