sedona lodging recommendation

I am not looking for spa type of lodging. Any recommendations? B&B or hotel is fine.

Not sure when you're traveling but I am staying @ the Inn @ Oak Creek next weekend. If you update on 2/18, I'll let you know...

Check out the sky ranch lodge. It's set atop a hill and has great views. It's also very good value. www.skyranchlodge.com.

I second the suggestion of Sky Ranch, as I often do here. It's vastly superior to the other inns in its price range.

Brutforce, please let me know how you liked your stay at The Inn on Oak Creek. We're going to Sedona the first part of March, and are searching for a place to stay. We want to see the sights and do a little hiking....how many nights do you recommend?

We've never been before & plan on spending 3 nights in Sedona & 1 in Phoenix. I'll let you know how it goes on 2/18.

I stayed at the Inn on Oak Creek and was very disappointed. From their brochure and website, I thought it would be quiet and scenic. It is literally 3-4 yards off the main highway into Sedona from the south. My room, although lovely inside, was so noisy from the traffic that I had to run the bathroom fan all night on the 2nd through 4th nights I was there. The first night I got no more than 2 hours sleep. There is a bridge just to the left of the building that has metal grates on it, and after the cars come by the building, they rattle the grates. It was extremely noisy. The breakfasts, however, were very good, the employees very friendly, and the rooms were pretty. The breakfast on the deck, however, was again ruined by the traffic. My choice next time (I also stayed at Enchantment) would be to drive north into Oak Creek Canyon. There are many nice places to stay up there where it is quiet, where the creek water actually rushes, and where the lodges are tucked into the trees.
