Sedona Lodging Not Online
In researching Sedona Cabins/ Lodging I keep seeing the same places over & over. Are their establishments not online and/or not as well known? I have also checked out VRBO and airbnb as well as a host of others but, again, the same places keep coming up. Would love to find a cabin that's rented by an individual near the creek or with a rock view. Heck, I even tried Craig's List! Any help you can offer would be appreciated as never having been to Sedona before I am at a disadvantage. Thanks in advance.......

I really don't understand what your issue is >>. . . cabin that's rented by an individual near the creek or with a rock view.<< In this day and age, individuals who actually want to rent out their properties need to have some on-line presence. Either their own website, or a listing with an agency, or vrbo/airbnb/whatever. Or Craigslist (though I personally wouldn't use Craigslist)
Why are you 'disadvantaged'? |
Are their establishments not online and/or not as well known?
To what establishments are you referring? HTtY |
I suspect the poster means are THERE, not are THEIR...
Perhaps if you tell us what you are looking for, somebody can help, but I doubt that there are many if any places that don't have an online presence these days. |
THERE, not are THEIR
Good point. I guess I was reading to fast too spot the possible misspelling. HTtY |
Junipine Lodge in Oak Creek Canyon is lovely and on a creek. Have a look at their website.

Cabins on the river may not be that easy to come by as much of the rivers is taken up by hotels.

Thank you for your replies. I saw my misspelling almost immediately but didn't have a means to revise my text. I am looking for places that aren't listed in the top sites, perhaps an individual that rents occasionally or does so on their own without the benefit of a large website (and the resulting charges). I am at a disadvantage as I've never been to Arizona and have no idea where these places, their proximity to destination spots, nor what else is in the area. Waiting on my Arizona Travel Guide now...... :-)

As I said above, if you tell us what/when/how many people/ pricepoint, etc. people here might be able to suggest something.

Respectfully, I think you are laboring under a romantic misconception, maybe more than one. Individuals rent their places through VRBO or Air BnB all the time--not all the listings on these sites are handled by management companies. Renting via word of mouth, which is what you seem to be getting at, just isn't feasible. The idea that an "offline" place will be cheaper is a nice one, but how will you know what it looks like or where it is located without pictures and maps...online?? I think you should find a place you can afford on VRBO or Air BnB, or perhaps just reserve a hotel room. Then you can look around and ask around while you are there, and maybe you will find the thing you are seeking and will be able to stay there going forward. |
Also, Sedona isn't that big. Anything you rent will be near everything else.

I am still a bit confused. There are seldom any extra charges for booking on line. In fact it is sometimes cheaper. |
Sorry, I just thought of another way to rain on the parade! Sedona real estate is not cheap, not by a long shot. Anyone with space to rent is not just going to sit around waiting for a tourist to amble up and ask after it, they are going to list it on the Internet. Because they need the money!
I do get the romance of the off-the-beaten-path place, I just think it's hard, if not impossible, to find in reality. |
" perhaps an individual that rents occasionally or does so on their own without the benefit of a large website (and the resulting charges). "
A website can be very inexpensive or even free. If you are looking for a cabin that a lot of people don't know about, how is the owner of the cabin going to let people know it exists? I rent a house in St. Lucia that doesn't show up in rental websites but the owners have their own website. Websites aren't expensive. There are no "resulting charges". So what is it exactly that you are looking for? |
