Sedona lodging

Hi all. We are looking for a decent (not expensive, but not Motel 6) place to stay for one night in Sedona in early April.

I usually avoid Best Westerns, but I understand that one (of the two?) in Sedona is very new, and a good place to stay.

Any experiences? We are traveling with our 2 boys, so spa experiences, etc. are not gonna happen on this trip!

Look at the Days Inn and the Hampton Inn in west Sedona (both on 89A). Both get very good reviews here and on Tripadvisor. Of the two I would choose Hampton Inn, but the Days Inn just got a rave review from a poster on here named "BlackandGold" (if you enter that in the search box the post on Sedona and the Days Inn, titled "Trip Report- Really Long" comes up as 1st post).

Best Western Arroyo Roble is in uptown Sedona, right in the middle of the high tourist volume (tour buses) section and is more expensive. The west Sedona locations of Days Inn and Hampton Inn are about 4 miles out from the uptown tourist area, are much more quiet, but are in good locations for restaurants and grocery shopping and most of all, close to the best condensed area for hiking (IMO) which is in west Sedona (trails off of Dry Creek rd. area).

You might want the convenience of that BW which gives you the ability to walk right out onto the high tourist volume part of 89A to tourist shops and some dining (but not great dining) with the kids, that is your choice...

Hi karens..
I agree with emd on the Days Inn and the Hampton Inn..also, there is a Comfort Inn and a La Quinta Inn that looks decent too. I have stayed at the BW of Sedona and it was pretty reasonable and the rooms were just renovated and the views were great of the red rock..not a fan of BW but was impressed with the Sedona hotel.

Best Western Inn of Sedona is just south of 'town;' is reasonably priced (for Sedona); and has a fabulous view. Click on my id and look for other SEDONA posts I have made, all of which will give other info about the Inn.

Avoid the Best Western Inn of Sedona. Although it has great views, the attitued of the management staff is terrible. My wife and I have just stayed there and we had cosmetics stolen from our locked room, obviously by the housekeeping staff. The front desk management did NOTHING to help and were rude. The actions and words of these people nearly ruined our otherwise good visit with friends in Sedona.

AVOID the Best Western Inn of Sedona!

Wow Padraigh..sorry to hear about your horrific experience at the BW Inn of Sedona..
We had a lovely experience and so did my in-laws..
I know that their corporate offices are in Phoenix and they take complaints very seriously..let them know..I had a horrific experience at a BW in Grants, NM and they gave me a free night at any of their BW's..give them a call (602) 957-4200

You might consider staying at Sky Ranch Lodge, up on top of Airport Mesa. No bar, no conventions, no truck traffic. Sixty-mile vistas. A hometown treasure.
