In any case avoid driving at sunset or after. In addition to large animals wandering across the highway, the snow that melted during the day will be on the road in the form of black ice.

For Zion/ Springdale there really is no bad hotel location as there is a free town shuttle that runs to the park entrance. Personally I like staying right at the park entrance (literally) , so my favorite hotel is Cable Mtn Lodge. It is 5min walk from the pedestrian entrance where you will pick up the park shuttle bus.

If you are arriving from Bryce the same day you tour Zion then you'll park in the park visitor lot anyway, so hotel location is less important.
The other hotel I like in Springdale is the La Quinta as rooms tend to be priced lower than other hotels. Another benefit if Cable Mtn lodge is they have larger/family rooms that fit a bigger group all in the same space. Regardless, plenty of hotel options in Springdale. I expect that you could also just drive from any hotel and park at the nat'l park's parking lot one or both days you are there without any issue.

I have booked hotel for 29th night in La Verkin as I will be in park entire day and then go to hotel and drive from there to Las vegas next morning.
For 28th night I will book a hotel near the Park entrance!
In Zion what is the best hiking trail you recommend?(Except Angel's) and best things to do (like scenic drives .....),I only have one complete day so I need to plan accordingly.
Appreciate you suggesting the hotels near the park !
