Sedona/GC Help (for the millionth time!)

I've done some research, but we're leaving in 3 weeks and have very little of an itinerary. We are 2 couples in our 40's. We're flying into/out of Phoenix and heading to Sedona. We're staying @ Arroyo Robles Resort in Oak Creek Canyon. We'll have a full day Monday through Thursday before we head back to Phoenix on Friday. At least 1 or maybe 2 of the days we'd like to just relax, but we really want to see the Grand Canyon. We also booked a float trip on the Colorado River out of Page, AZ. The float trip starts @ 11:15am and runs 5.5 hours. Is there anything else around Page to see around sunset? Maybe a good place for dinner between there and Sedona? The other daytrip to Grand Canyon, can anyone suggest a route and other sights to see. Should we try to see the North Rim too? I'm not familiar with driving distances/times. We are not big shoppers or hikers, and the boy's are into extreme sports, but us girls aren't as adventurous. I also thought about looking into jet-skis at Lake Powell, if anyone if familiar with that or has any suggestions. Thanks for any help!

Sedona to GC = 2.5-3 hours
Sedona to Page = 3-3.5 hours

All of these are daytrips from Sedona? 5.5 hrs float trip from Page? You should stay there - or at North Rim, not driving back and forth every day.

many years ago stayed at little america in flagstaff and id a few day trips--gand canyon, walnut canyon, the area where there was volcanic ruins--can't remember the name-the last two very near flagstaff. Woould have been more time efficient if we just did the flag staff stuff and then moved on to the grand canyon area for a hotel rather than keep returning to the same place.
We loved out visit to Monument Valley--which is like 3-4 hours north east of south rim of the grand canyon. Remember that monument valley has different time zone so check out the time difference from arizona if you go. Page is also a distance from the grand canyon.--maybe at least 2 hours or more.

Last year, when in Sedona, we booked the Red Rocks Pink Jeep Tour. It was fantastic!

The place that I booked the float trip gave me a distance of 164 miles from Sedona to Page. Does anyone know what the speed limit is? Is it just a straight shot @ 70 MPH?

HAVE YOU BEEN ON MAPQUEST YET?!?!?!

Yes, I know I am shouting.

Did the fires in Oak Creek Canyon in June do any damage? I read they evacuated many homes and businesses.

No damage whatsoever. On one of the Pink Jeep tours we saw some evidince of the fires, but Sedona was unscathed - amazingly so.

On the drive to the North Rim, the fire damage was evident. But, thank goodness Sedona and Oak Creek made it out okay.

Yes, it's a straight shot from Sedona through Oak Creek Canyon to Page. I think they have a 4 lane highway above the canyon so you can avoid the twisty roads now.

I already told you the time it would take. Mapquest would do the same thing. The float trip people who told you it was 164 miles could've told you. Please, do some research - there are tons of threads on this board that list the mileage and travel time between Sedona, PHX, Grand Canyon, Page, and on and on. You'd get a bunch of ideas on places to eat and things to do as well. Posting this thread will give you a few responses, but most people don't even bother to reply to stuff like this because it's been covered over and over.
