Sedona area lights at Thanksgiving?

Yesterday, the guy on the stairmaster beside me mentioned something about lights in a neighborhood south and east of Sedona at Thanksgiving. Does anyone know what he's talking about?

We'll be in the north Scottsdale area for Thanksgiving and I wonder if it's worth a daytrip to see the lighting. Will the display still be around at Christmas time?

Hi amwosu. Talking AZ on the stairmaster, eh? I'd say you're hooked.
I haven't heard about these lights. USNR on this board lives in Sedona but he doesn't check in all the time. I know that poster "OO" went to Sedona two years ago for Thanksgiving week, so if you see her post on another thread you might ask her directly if she's heard of this. If no one answers, I suppose you could call of email the Chamber of Commerce (they run a good website w/tourist info that you might have bookmarked already). Here is their contact info:

I'd be interested in hearing about it if you find something out.

Nearer to Scottsdale, Papago Park has a beautiful luminaria walk. I believe the donation is 16 dollars. It looks beautiful.

Oh, if that is what it is I know that one, so to it every year. It is Christmas-related though. I though this was something different for Thanksgiving that amwosu was talking about.

Thats it. Thanks guys. May do the Papago Park lights at Thanksgiving as we only have a few days and the Sedona lights at Christmas when we are there longer.

emd- bumming about the weather in central IN right now (this Oct. hasn't been as pretty as the last several) so can't stop thinking/talking about AZ. Pity party for me!

The lights that are so famous are at the large hotel right next to Tlaquepacque.....they begin around Thanksgiving and continue thru the first of the year. Now, the name of the hotel has TOTALLY escaped my memory and I cannot come up with it now....alot of people go up specifically to see the lighting.

amwosu, we are in Sedona renting a house from Dec. 26th through Jan 2nd. If you happen to be going there then, let me know and we can meet up at Tlaque-whatever-it-is (I never can get that name spelled correctly, as many times as I have been there and as much moola as I have spent in that woven goods womenswear store) for a drink and appetizers or something.

We've been there a couple of Thanksgivings, but I'm not familiar with the lights.
