Sedona accommodations
 

Hi everyone. My partner & I are visiting Sedona for 3 days in November as part of an 8 day vacation in Arizona, our first time in the state. We need hotel recommendations.

Neither of us shop, use spas or golf courses, though we like to swim & great pools are always appreciated. On the other hand, we like to be accessible for hikes or walks, especially if there is a town center or the like. We visit the SW for scenery and hikes primarily.

Many places have one week cancellation policies, which leaves me a bit nervous. I booked 3 mights at the Hilton Sedona Resort & Spa, 72 hr. cancellation notice.


Any suggestions?

The Best Western-Arroyo Roble Hotel is right downtown and all rooms have great views of the rocks. Rooms have been recently redecorated and there is an attractive breakfast room. If the weather isn't good during your visit you should be able to cut your trip short and head south.

The BestWestern Sedona website looked goo. What kind of weather can I expect? I'm heading from Scottsdale and passing through Sedonia to the Grand Canyon, returning through Las Vegas.

We were in Arizona last November, and it most definetly was not warm enough for me to use the hotel pool. We also spent a nice sunny afternoon at Slide Rock State Park, and although there were many people climbing about and having fun, NO ONE was in the water. A hot tub, maybe?

As usual, I forgot to add something. We didn't find Sedona to be a walking town at all. A hiking town, yes. But walking in a town center, no. We drove to every place where we hiked, except for the hiking trails near our hotel.

Best Western Inn of Sedona was great for us. Ask for a room on the top level facing the town. We had glorious views there and the price was reasonable. Check the 800#, the hotel direct number and the internet for rates. We found prices different at each and right now, I can't remember which was best.

Have you considered Enchantment Resort? Its in Boynton Canyon and has trails on the property. Also, just a few minutes from "town". The pool has a spectacular view of the red rocks of Boynton Canyon. It is truly a beautiful and serene place to stay. We are looking forward to a return trip.

I had the same experience with rate at the BW. I booked, canceled and then rebooked when I found a lower rate on BW web site.

Can anyone tell me whether the pools at the Hilton Sedona Resort would be heated and, therefore, maybe swimmable in early
November?

I'm still struggling with deciding between the BW at the "town center" and the Hilton Sedona Resort. Any suggestions?

One of the HIlton's pools is an inddor pool. Don't know if the outdoor one is heated, you'd need to call and ask.

We stayed at the Best Western Inn at Sedona in March of this year with my in-laws and it was reasonable($100-) and what a great hotel for the price..the views are outstanding and the free breakfast too..there are no elevators so ask for the third level facing the red rocks which is street level..it is a open patio on each level with lots of tables and chairs and at first reading this I was a little leary of sharing a big common space but it all worked out really well and everyone had their space and we had wine and cheese and other goodies and it was a fitting way to end the day before dinner.
There is also a shuttle service and took us to the restaurants for free...we tipped a couple of dollars per person and it allowed us to have several drinks without driving...
Of course who doesn't love the enchantment resort but for the amount we saved and since we were out pretty much most of the day it was great location and hotel!

Another vote for the Enchantment Resort. It's setting in Boynton Canyon is breathtaking. It has a very nice outdoor pool area with great views of the canyon. There's plenty of hiking right around the resort. You can also rent bikes at the resort. It's a very quick ride into town. The scenery around the resort is spectacular and worth staying a few miles outside the main part of town.
