Sedona accommodations
 

We are traveling to Arizona in mid April and looking to stay one night in Sedona on our way to the Grand Canyon. I have read some reviews on different hotels -- Sky Ranch Lodge, L'Auberge, Enchantment, Bell Rock Inn, Best Western. Any suggestions on best one for family with 3 kids ages 8-12? I'm sure they would love a pool but not sure if they are open at that time. Thank you very much.

Hi Kathy, I just responded to your other post about GC hotels. It sounds like you are doing a trip similar to the one we took last year (2 families w/2 ten year olds!)<BR>Anywho, we stayed at the Best Western in Sedona and found it to suit our needs. Not fancy but we loved being able to sit on the deck and eat our b'fast (complimentary) and then in the evening we would sit out and have desserts and/or a glass of wine (or 2!).<BR><BR>The Sky Ranch Lodge looks great. It is across the street and up the hill from the BW and has many fans that post on this site. If we were to go back we would definately consider it. They have a great little restaurant there that you should try.<BR><BR>L'Auberge and Enchantment get rave reviews here as well.<BR><BR>Enjoy!

The sky RAnch is great value. Not super fancy but nicely landscaped with great views. There is a pool. I believe L'Auberge and Enchantment are much more upscale. I don't know anything about the others.

Another vote for Sky Ranch Lodge. It has a pool, but it is not heated, so it may be a little chilly in April. The grounds are lovely and they don't seem to be a &quot;keep off the grass&quot; kind of place. Your kids might enjoy the little airport nearby. Small planes, including open cockpit WWI types take off and land there all the time.

Hello, We stayed at L'Auberge last fall and I was extremely disappointed. We didn't bring our 2 year old and don't think he would have been comfortable or for that fact, welcome. The main lodge is very dated and run down. We ended up paying extra money for one of the cottages by the creek, but it was more more $ than we anticipated. Our other choice was Enchantment, which is what we will try next time.

We stayed at Enchantment last summer with our 8 and 11 year old, and really liked the space of our one bedroom casita. We had a small kitchen, and the kids had their own room (which meant we had ours!!) The pool is nothing special, but they have a large fun game area with lawn bowling and croquet. The scenery is spectacular - we got a kick out of walking around at night with flashlights and looking for deer, bats, skunks . . . all the kinds of things my son loves! The hiking trails were all closed, unfortunately, because of the severe draught but they looked fabulous. If you have time, stop for a few hours in Jerome - very cute street with lots of shops and a shlocky &quot;ghost town&quot; kind of place with lots of kitchy stuff that the kids will love. Enjoy!!
